About Us

The Canadian Centre for Pollution Prevention (C2P2) encourages actions that avoid or minimize the creation of pollution and waste. We follow the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment's definition of pollution prevention [PDF], which focuses on anticipating and avoiding the creation of pollutants rather than managing them after they’ve been created.

C2P2 is a not for profit organization operating as a business line of The Bloom Centre for Sustainability. Our core business is the transfer of P2 information in the interest of catalyzing behavioural change. We share knowledge and encourage collaborations that support pollution prevention considerations in everyday decision-making.

In operation since 1992, we have worked with a wide range of sectors including all levels of government, trade associations, industry, consultants, students, businesses and non-governmental organizations. In 2010 C2P2 became a business line of the Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement, which in 2011 became The Bloom Centre for Sustainability.
